KinoCalendar

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

KinoCalendar is a free service that aggregates movie showtimes for local theaters. This policy explains what personal information KinoCalendar collects, why, where it is stored, and the choices you have. KinoCalendar collects as little as possible and never sells your data.

What we collect

  • Account information. If you sign in with Google or Apple, KinoCalendar receives your account identifier and email address. We do not request or store your name, profile photo, contacts, or any other data from the provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one, and we use only that.
  • Your saved data. When you sign in, the lists you build or import, the individual showtimes you save, and the theaters you favorite are stored in your KinoCalendar account so they sync across your devices. Lists are stored as movie titles and numeric movie IDs.
  • Digest subscription. If you opt in to the weekly digest, we store the city you selected and timestamps such as when you subscribed and when we last emailed you, so we know what to send and when.
  • On-device storage. Your browser's local storage holds your theme preference and your sign-in session.

How we use it

We use your information only to operate the service: to save your lists, saved showtimes, and favorite theaters and sync them across your devices, and to send the opt-in weekly digest of movies on your lists that are playing near you. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising.

Where it's stored and who processes it

KinoCalendar relies on a small number of third-party service providers ("sub-processors") to operate. They process your data only to provide their service to us:

  • Google — authentication, when you choose to sign in with Google. (Google Privacy Policy)
  • Apple — authentication, when you choose to sign in with Apple, including its optional private email relay. (Apple Privacy Policy)
  • Cloudflare — hosting and data storage. Your account data (lists, saved showtimes, favorite theaters, and any digest subscription) is stored in Cloudflare's database (D1). (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
  • Resend — delivery of the weekly digest emails. (Resend Privacy Policy)
  • The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie poster images load in your browser and email client directly from TMDB. We do not send TMDB any of your personal information.

Email notifications and unsubscribing

The weekly digest is strictly opt-in. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe from within the app at any time. Unsubscribing immediately and permanently deletes your subscription record — your email, selected city, and send timestamps — from our storage. Your saved lists, saved showtimes, and favorite theaters are not affected; those are removed only if you delete your account (see below). We honor unsubscribe requests right away.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account exists, and your subscription data while you are subscribed. Unsubscribing deletes your subscription record, as described above. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — email privacy@kinocalendar.com and we'll permanently remove your saved lists, saved showtimes, favorite theaters, and any digest subscription from our servers. You can email the same address with any privacy-related question.

Cookies and local storage

KinoCalendar does not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (such as theme) and your sign-in session.

Children

KinoCalendar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
